The KNX TP Media Coupler KSC functions as a KNX line/area coupler, enabling bi-directional data transfer between two KNX TP lines or areas. It provides galvanic isolation between the KNX TP main line and the KNX TP subline. When used as a TP Coupler, it can connect multiple KNX TP lines or serve as an area coupler to link different KNX TP areas via a TP backbone.Telegram filtering is managed based on the device's position in the hierarchy and built-in group communication filter tables. A duo-LED display shows all operational modes and statuses, simplifying diagnostics.When configured as a TP Repeater, KSC enables extended line segments, supporting unfiltered data transfer and galvanic isolation. Up to four segments can be combined in a single KNX TP line using three KSC repeaters, each with its own KNX bus power source.For commissioning and troubleshooting, the KSC includes a Manual Function to handle telegram filter switch-off, routing, repetition, and confirmation functions, optimising system flexibility.
