EPOS power supplies tend to have secondary output channels to provide battery backup or to run peripherals such as printers. Other products often categorised as EPOS power supplies may be desktop or plugtop units, intended for handheld bar code scanners or epos terminal monitors rather than a complete system.

EPOS power supplies generally have a compact footprint & features that suit easy install into hospitality and retail applications such as till stations and checkouts. Typical features of full system EPOS power supplies include International AC input range, soft start circuits, LED power on indication, convection cooling and protections for short circuit, over load and over voltage.
